I'm a blogger

Hi Guys ,

Here is our blog - it is very simple!! and hopefully easy to use , I'm new to this so lets see how it goes. I'm here to open a forum for all moms and dads who want to voice anything they want to (doesn't have to be specifically baby orientated , but since we all have that in common - it's a pretty good place to start! ) Anyone wanting to chat feel free.......

  1. Lovely Conny! i have a question- I'm in the market for a help-with-toddlers book- do you have any you can recommend or can you put the question out there, maybe some of the moms can review post a review of the books for you?

  3. What does one do with 2 small kids when it is so windy outside ? Any ideas? I have a 4 year old boy protecting us from the 'baddie aliens' , with special watches and lazers and a 15 month old unpacking the tupperware cupboard....again! not sure those activities are going to last much longer.

hey Cecile- the 'What to expect' range of books is supremely helpful- the make one for the toddler years - any question you may have is in their . Also the up from babysense is called Toddler Sense is a great book.

Thanks Yuki - I'm always around for any questions you may have ! : )

  4. Cool, I'll give you 2 of the 3 - 6 month sizes. Those seem to be the most popular.

  8. Hi Ariane,

There is a babysitter referred by the girl who does yoga here . her name is Kelly : 072 229 4264. Also My neice is 24 and getting her drivers license soon , and will be keen too . I use my nannies sister(who lives in city bowl) too - she is fine , very sweet and quiet , but kids need to be in bed and asleep . Going cost is R30 / hour . The non driving sitters catch cabs home , and that is only R30 extra around city bowl. Hope that helps - maybe someone else out there can recommend?

  9. Hi Conny,

What can I do about my little daughter having constipation for 4 days now?
She is breastfeeding still but we put her on solids (homemade mashed fruit and veggies, no formula) about 3 weeks ago. Any advice?

  10. Hello Yuki Baby...Such a common problem . I can definitely give you a few tips.

It is a classic case of a breastfed baby trying to digest another form of nutrition , and her little tummy is not sure what to do .

Firstly I would increase her fluids , by that I mean her breastmilk intake - especially in this scorching weather - so during the day make sure she feeds at least 3 hourly (if you log onto www.babygrowclinic.com and click on to breastfeeding guidelines , so more tips there), at night you can let her sleep and feed only when she wakes.

If you are doing this already - introduce some water . 30 mls of warm boiled water 3 x day .

Also with regard to veggies , hold off the starchy ones eg : potatoes - do your butternuts/carrots/baby marrows .

If none of the above works - then introduce some prune purity (you can buy some - Purity - makes it, or even better you can make your own by stewing some dried prunes and pureeing it. It is very sweet and concentrated though - so not too much)
    .

The next step would be medication , but we'll try and stay from that!
Hope that helps . Keep me updated...

  12. Hi Conny,

Just wanted to update you. The little one finally did a number 2. We tried the things you said and they seemed to have worked perfectly.

    Cheers
